Brisbane: Screening a ‘best of’ selection of short animated films shared by ASIFA chapters from around the world exclusively for International Animation Day.

Melbourne: MIAF will be screening a total of 25 Australian animated short films over two sessions – Australian Student Showcase at 5:45pm and Australian Showcase at 7:45pm.

IAD 22 Programs:

  •   “IAD 2022 in KYOTO” will be held on November 22nd, 2022, at Kyoto University of the Arts (KUA),    as a special class aimed for students, graduate students, faculty members, and related people    including ASIFA members.    (Because of Covid-19, we are still not able to hold our IAD aiming general public.)    

    At the opening, as always, we will be holding a short lecture to make a brief overview of IAD, and then, this year, we would be pleased to show four short films by Michaela Pavlatova (screening at the venue only), which will be followed by Michaela’s lecture on her filmmaking, via online, connecting Praha and Kyoto.   

    Co-organized by the Department of Information Design, KUA;  Design Field, Graduate School,     KUA; and ASIFA-JAPAN.
  • “VR Photo Exhibition of Hiroshima International Animation Festival 1985 – 2020” will be held on the occasion of IAD 2022, during October 28th – November 30th, 2022 (tentative), in both English & Japanese, to show the 36 years history of Hiroshima Festival. This VR Photo Exhibition will be accessible via internet from all around the world! More details will be announced soon. Planned, composed, and designed by Hiroshi Onishi, Professor at Kyoto University of the Arts/Deputy President of ASIFA-JAPAN;  Supported by Kyoto University of the Arts; and Supervised by ASIFA-JAPAN.
  • “IAD 2022 in ATSUGI” will be held on November 14th, 2022, at Kanagawa Institute of Technology (KAIT), as a special class aimed for students, faculty members, and related people including ASIFA members. Programs will be announced soon.
